Let me just say that I generally love white Corvettes, and this one is no exception. It’s been repainted by a previous owner and looks really nice judging by the photos accompanying the auction ad.
It was delivered new to Butler Chevrolet Motors of New London, Connecticut. The current seller bought this car only about four months ago for $33,500 and is already listing it for sale. This seems strange and suspicious to me, but the bidders aren’t bothered by it from what I see in the Comments section.
Aside from the big-block engine, it’s not a highly-optioned car and has just the typical equipment. This C3 is offered at no reserve with a Protect-O-Plate, a tank sticker, and a clean Florida title.
I’m happy that this is an original Polar White car and that it was repainted the same color. There are some paint touch-ups but I think it generally shows pretty well. The only problem noted by the seller is that the wipers do not work.
I’m also glad to see that the original 15″ Rally Wheels and trim rings and are still present. I always loved the look of these wheels that first appeared on the ‘67 Corvettes.
The interior looks very tidy to me with the bucket seats upholstered in dark blue vinyl and color-matching door panels and carpets.
The basic cabin looks very original to me with the correct steering wheel and the chrome shifter with reverse lockout. The odometer reads about 60,000 miles, but of course there’s no way to verify the true mileage.
The 427 cubic inch engine is the hydraulic-lifter 390 horsepower version equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and a chrome air cleaner and valve covers. The engine looks very clean and I noticed that it even has the original ignition shielding around the distributor and wires.
It’ll be interesting to see if the seller is able to recoup his purchase price from four months ago. The auction is scheduled to end on Monday, March 24 at 4:23 PM.
